Ian Kilmister aka Lemmy of the rock band Motorhead turns 67 today. Lemmy is the lead vocalist, bassist, principal songwriter and founder and sole constant member of the group. He saw The Beatles play at The Cavern Club in Liverpool when he was 16 and he was hooked. He learned to play by playing along with The Beatles first album “Please Please Me” and became a huge fan of the group, epecially John Lennon. Lemmy started out in the group Hawkwind from 1971-75. He was kicked out of the group and started his own group Motorhead [named after the last song he wrote while he was with Hawkwing. Motorhead has released 20 studio albums over the years. There was an excellent documentary on Lemmy that came out a year two ago. Lemmy is an interesting man.
