Football Hall Of Famer- Jack Ham- Pittsburgh Steelers-64 Today

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jack Ham turns 64 today. Jack Ham played his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a key member of 4 Steeler Super Bowl Championships during the 1970’s.  Jack Ham was an outside linebacker. Never a flashy player, he was the perfect player. He was a perfect tackler. He rarely seemed to make a mistake. He was the Steelers second round pick out of Penn State in the 1971 NFL draft. During his career which went from 1971-82 he made 8 Pro Bowls all of them in a row. He was an intelligent player, not an emotional player. To sum Ham up in one word- professional.

He was one of the first great linebackers to come out of Linebacker University- Penn State- and remains the greatest ever linebacker from Penn State.

Jack Ham is in both the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Famers. The Steelers don’t retire uniform numbers but they do not issue anyone Jack Ham’s #59.
