Rick Nielsen the lead guitarist and songwriter for the rock group Cheap Trick turns 64 today. Cheap Trick was in their prime in the late 1970’s-early 1980’s.  Cheap Trick was formed in 1972 out of Rockford, Illinois. My favourite Cheap Trick song is “Surrender”  They have had 8 Top 40 hits including the #1 “The Flame” Their big breakout hit was the album “Cheap Trick Live at Budokan”in 1979. I really liked Cheap Trick for a period of time but around the mid 1980’s lost my interest in them. Nielsen was known for wearing a baseball cap with the bill flipped up. Cheap Trick is still together and touring.
