On this day in 1924 Adolf Hitler was released from Landsberg Prison after spending 264 days there after being convicted of treason following the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich in 1923. While Hitler was in prison he wrote his book Mein Kampf with assistance from his deputy Rudolf Hess. A dreadfully boring read.
