Maurice White who was the mastermind of the great 70’s -80’s American soul band “Earth, Wind and Fire” turns 71 today. Earth, Wind and Fire had 16 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Pop Charts from 1974-83. They enjoyed one #1 hit -1975’s “Shining Star” some of their other great hits include “After The Love Has Gone”, “Let’s Groove”,”Sing A Song” “Serpentine Fire”, “September” and their remake of The Beatles “Got To Get You Into My Life” was excellent. Earth, Wind and Fire are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Maurice White was diagosed in the late 1980’s with Parkinson’s Disease which led him to stop touring with Earth, Wind and Fire in the mid-1990’s.
