On this day in 1843 Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” goes on sale. A Christmas Carol remains popular 169 years after it was first published.  Dickens would write 17 other Christmas stories that would be published in magazines but A Christmas Carol remains the most famous and best loved of them all.
