Paul Rodgers who was the singer for Free and Bad Company turns 63 today. A number of singers have cited Rodgers as being a big influence on them, John Mellencamp once said Rodgers was the best rock singer ever. Freddie Mercury idolized Rodgers and was inspired by Rodgers aggressive singing style. He was the singer on Free’s hit “All Right Now in 1970 but he is best known for his time with Bad Company. Bad Company’s greatest days where when Rodgers was their singer 1973-82 and later 1998-2002. The Rodgers led- Bad Company released six albums and they had 6 Top 40 hits in American. Their biggest hit was “Can’t Get Enough” which hit #5 in 1974. My favourite Bad Company songs were not even hits “Bad Company’ and “Shooting Stars” which are staples on classic rock radio. A double CD “The Original Bad Company Anthology” has all you need as far as Bad Company is concerned, the classic stuff.
