The Grand Ole Opry Begins Broadcasting In Nashville, Tennessee This Day 1925

On this day in 1925 the Grand Ole Opry began broadcasting in Nashville, Tennessee. The original name was the WSM Barn Dance. It started as a one hour radio show. It is one of the longest running radio broadcasting shows. Since 1974 the Grand Ole Opry has been performed at the Grand Ole Opry House. They used to televise the Grand Ole Opry on television. Incredibly dull. Just my opinion. They have some acts on their that haven’t had a hit in decades and who were not even big acts in their day.
