On this day in 1963-Monday November 25th President John Kennedy was buried. What a weekend that must have been to live though. On Friday afternoon President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. Vice-President Lyndon Johnson becomes POTUS. On Sunday November 24th, the assassin Lee Harvey Oswald is murdered by Jack Ruby. Monday is the funeral and burial of President Kennedy. In the next three years over 16 million people would visit President Kennedy’s grave at Arlington. It is still the most visited area at Arlington which is an incredible place. Later his wife Jackie would be buried there and their two children who died at childbirth. President Kennedy’s brothers Robert and Ted are buried nearby. The “Eternal Flame” burns at President Kennedy’s grave. The only other POTUS buried at Arlington is William Howard Taft.
