On this day in 1960 Wilt Chamberlain pulled down 55 rebounds to set the NBA record for most rebounds in a game. 52 years later the record still stands. He broke Bill Russell’s record of 51 which had been set in February of 1960. Of the top ten list of single game rebounds Wilt Chamberlain has six of the top 10 and Bill Russell [the greatest winner in sports history} had 4. I can’t see anyone breaking this record. Wilt was a great stats guy, he would have been the ultimate fantasy league player but Bill Russell was the guy I’d want on my team.
