Steve Landesberg who starred as Arthur Dietrich in ‘Barney Miller” was born on this day in 1936. He got a late start in his career and gave different birthdates. When he died a couple years ago there were conflicting reports on when he was actually born. “Barney Miller” was one of my favourite shows from the late 197o’s and I think Dietrich was my favourite character on the show. “Barney Miller” ran 8 seasons, Landesberg was a regular starting in season 4.
