On this day in 2001 the first “Harry Potter” movie opened in the theaters.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The seven Harry Potter movies have been the most successful money making series in the history of cinema. I saw and read the first book. I stopped there. Mrs. Postcard has read  them all but didn’t care for the movies all that much. This series of books sure got kids reading and interested in books which is a good thing.  The final Potter movie came out in 2011. J.K Rowling released her first non-Potter book this summer to mixed reviews.
