Garry Kasparov Of The Soviet Union Becomes Youngest World Chess Champion-This Day 1985

On this day in 1985 Garry Kasparov of the Soviet Union became the youngest World Chess Champion at the age of 22. He beat fellow countryman Anatoly Karpov to win the title. Kasparov would hold the title until 2000. He is considered to be one of the greatest chess champions in history. These days he is mostly involved with writing and politics.
