F.D.R. Wins Third Term- Presidential Election-This Day 1940

On this day in 1940 POTUS Franklin Roosevelt won a record third term in office handling beating Wendell Willkie by an electoral vote of 449 to 82.

I do not give FDR high marks on his handling of the Great Depression but he was an outstanding leader who in his last few years was a great war time leader. He would go on to win a 4th term in 1944 before dying before the end of the war in 1945.
