Golf Legend- Gary Player turns 77 today. Player is one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He won 9 majors which is tied for the 4th most in majors wins. He won more majors than Arnold Palmer. I always thought Player is one of the most underrated athletes. Maybe it is because he is from South Africa. Maybe it was because he played tournaments all over the world not just on the PGA tour. He was famous for always being in great physical shape. He was also quite small at 5’6″. Player’s nickname was “The Black Knight”because of his habit of wearing all black on the golf course.
