Legendary Boxing Trainer Emanuel Steward Dead At 68

Legendary boxing trainer Emanuel Steward has died at age 68 from a serious stomach illness. Steward was born in Bottom Creek, West Virginia. He moved with him mother to Detroit at age 12 and became involved in boxing. He was an amateur fighter but would gain his fame as a trainer. His most famous fighter was Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns. He turned Hearns from a light hitting boxer into a devastating puncher. The last boxer he worked with was Wladimir Klitschko.
