On this day in 1975 the greatest baseball game I’ve ever seen was played, Game 6 of the World Series the Cincinnati Reds at Fenway Park in Boston to face the Red Sox. The Reds were up 3 games to 2 in the best of 7 series. This was an amazing game with one of the most memorable endings of any baseball game. Carlton Fisk’s home run in the bottom of the 12th inning. This game and the entire World Series played a big part in the comeback of baseball in the United States.
The Red Sox forced a Game 7 but would lose to the Reds. The Curse of the Bambino was still very much alive in Boston.
