Rock superstar Tom Petty 62 today. He would rank in my Top 10 list of rock and roll performers. My Mount Rushmore of Tom Petty albums would be “Wildflowers”, “Damn The Torpedoes” “Full Moon Fever” and “Into The Great Wide Open” Petty has released 15 studio albums over his long career his last being “Mojo” back in 2010.

I love Tom Petty. Saw him last year with Joe Cocker.He still has it! Whenever I feel like busting out into a little dance party I put on Mary Jane, guaranteed to put a smile on my face. For years I ran the “back stage” at the arena where all the acts played. Ran into Petty more than once, he’s definitely on the list of decent performers. By that I mean good people. The “good” list includes Carlos Santana, Harry Connick Jr.,Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Tina Turner, B.B. King, and of course Petty. My “bad” list is topped by Robert Plant, Neil Diamond, and Elton John with a whole bunch of temperamental divas in between.
Your good and bad list…does not surprise me.. especially the bad list..
Neil Diamond moved about with his “wedge” of security, anybody who made eye contact with him was supposed to be fired. Robert Plant demanded I bring him a bottle of Jack Daniels shortly before going on stage, long story short I ripped him a new a**hole for being such a jerk, Elton John – what can I say, though I did help him get dressed which was truly weird. On the bright side, one of my best nights was taking shepherd’s pie and Guinness to Joe Cocker, he opened his dressing room wearing nothing but boxer shorts. His grizzled body was fascinating and we sat talking about the stars for the better part of an hour.
