Mr. October Reggie Jackson hit 3 home runs in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series on this day 35 years ago. Reggie not only hit three home runs in that game but hit them off of three different pitchers on the first pitch he saw from each pitcher. Reggie hit 5 home runs in that World Series leading the Yankees to the World Championship over the Los Angeles Dodgers 4 games to 2. Reggie was one of the most exciting players I’ve ever seen. Reggie striking out was as exciting as most players hitting a home run. He seemed to rise to the occasion. {Barry Bonds seemed to shrink under pressure…disappear maybe a better word for it} There were a lot of Reggie’s turning 35 year old today in the New York City area.
