On this day in 1933 Albert Einstein fled Hitler and Nazi Germany and moved to the United States. He would take a position at the Institute of Advanced Study at Princeton, New Jersey. He was 54 years old when he emigrated to America. He would die in Princeton in 1955 at the age of 76. In 1999 he was named Time Magazine’s “Person of the Century”
