German businessman Oskar Schindler who was the subject of the Oscar-winning movie “Schindler’s List” died on this day in 1974 at the age of 66. Schindler is credited with saving the lives of 1200 Jews from the Holocaust. He is buried at a Catholic cemetery in Israel. I cannot remember a more moving movie than “Schindler’s List” I was at a theater that was filled to capacity and at the end of it everyone was in tears.

The movie won seven Acadamy Awards including best picture and director. To me the great performance in that movie was from the  great Ralph Fiennes as Amon Goth the SS officer. The film came out in 1993. Hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago.
