On this day in 1981 the President of Egypt Anwar Sadat was assassinated by fundamentalist army officers during a victory parade in Cairo. Sadat had been the President of Egypt since October 1970. The peace treaty he signed with Israel in 1978 probably sealed his fate. He was a man ahead of his time. Sadat was 62 years old at the time of his death.
this was truly a voice of reason…and as you stated ahead of his time.
