On this day in 1960 in his last major league at bat, the great Ted Williams hit a home run off of Baltimore’s Jack Fischer. Teddy Ballgame receives a big ovation from the Fenway fans but Teddy Ballgame stays true to himself and refuses to tip his hat to the fans.

never will be another like this man. was difficult to take off the field. had some very good points, but had feet of clay. in other words he was human just like us.
He was an interesting man. Led an fascinating life. Reading about his life growing up-proves to me that if you are determined almost anyone can succeed. We all make mistakes.
