Chicago Cubs Pitcher Ed Reulbach Pitches Two Shutouts In One Day- Only Time Ever In Baseball History This Day 1908

On this day in 1908 Chicago Cubs pitcher Ed Reulbach became the only pitcher to ever pitched two shutouts in one day against the Brooklyn Dodgers. He did this during a pennant race too. The Cubs would eventually win it and the World Series. That was the last Cubs World Series Championship. Pretty sad, isn’t it. :What Reulbach did that day  is a record that is unlikely to ever be matched. Reulbach was a fine major league pitcher, he compiled a career record of 182-106 with a 2.28 ERA in 12 seasons, mostly with the Cubs.
