Ground Is Broken For Fenway Park In Boston, This Day 1911

Fenway from Legend's Box.jpg

On this day in 1911 ground was broken in Boston for the building of Fenway Park. Fenway Park is of course still in use by the Boston Red Sox. It is the oldest ballpark still in use. The first game at Fenway was in 1912. Wrigley Field in Chicago, the home of the Cubs is second oldest ballpark it opened in 1916. If you haven’t been to either ballpark and are a baseball fan my advice is go.  There are great seats and awful seats in both parks but the trip is worth it. Go early and soak in the atmosphere outside of the ballpark. The history that has been made at both places is incredible.

    • Ive been to games a dozen times at Fenway. I had great seats…one time.. Wrigley is better. Most of the new ballparks are better but this does have history.
