The great Scotty Bowman, the greatest hockey coach who ever lived and one of the greatest coaches ever in any sport-79 today.
As a head coach Scotty Bowman won 9 Stanley Cups. His teams won a record 1244 regular season victories and a coaching record in the playoff too with 223. Bowman coached the Montreal Canadians to 5ive Stanley Cup championships, the Pittsburgh Penguins to one and the Detroit Red Wings to 3.
In his first head coaching job in St.Louis he took the Blues to 3 Stanley Cup finals. He also coached in Buffalo in the 1980’s. Scotty Bowman retired ten years ago as a coach and is currently Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bowman maybe be the best coach in any sport ever in my mind. I think taking the expansion Blues to the finals three times in their first three years is by far his best achievement.
