Tim Raines who was the National Leagues version of Rickey Henderson {not as great as Rickey though but still an outstanding ballplayer} 53 years old today. I think Rock Raines is one of the top players who should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame but isn’t.
Tim Raines was a .294 career hitter. 170 home runs, 980 rbi’s, 2605 hits, he stole 808 bases in his career. He was a 7 time All-Star. His on base percentage for his career was .385. I think of him as a Montreal Expo, the team he started out with and played for from 1979-1990. He played with 5ive other teams ending his career in 2002.
I figure he will be one of those players that get into the Hall of Fame after years of waiting. I don’t quite understand why he hasn’t gone in. One good sign each year he has gained in percentage of votes.

why he is not in the hall is a head scratcher. more reasons that those that are allowed to vote should be given a general knowledge quiz to see if they have earned the right to vote.
