The greatest living country music singer George Jones turns 81 today. It’s hard to believe George Jones made it to 40 years of age let alone 81.  George Jones was as well known for his wild ways with drinking, drunks and women as he was for his great singing. He’s been married four times, most notably to Tammy Wynette. Jones has had over 150 country hits and 14 country #1 hits. He has been a member of the Grand Old Opry since 1956. He still tours. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992. His 1980 smash hit “He Stopped Loving Her Today” has been called by many the greatest country music song ever.
