I haven’t been paying that much attention to this story but I read this and my jaw dropped. Billy Gillispie-who is under fire in Lubbock for the way he’s been treating his players has had some undisclosed health issues. Reading this story it’s no wonder. In the past few years he has lived a nightmare. He gets fired at Kentucky. His mom who he was extremely close to dies, he loses 2.3 million dollars in a Ponzi scheme and his nephew was killed 2 months ago. I think he needs some time off.

I don’t really know anything about Gillespie but it’s always nice to see moderation in an era of ‘guilty until proven innocent’, burn ’em at the stake, build ’em up just so we can all stand around and rubber-neck while they’re lit on fire and go down in flames. Yay.

billy clyde is a good coach. i am beginning to wonder what is up with texas tech – they ran off mike leach for being tough on kids – well it was espn’s craig james’ son. who knows if we ever will hear the full truth there.
