In one of his finest moves as POTUS and there were many -George Washington appointed Alexander Hamilton as the first Secretary of the Treasury on this day in 1789. Hamilton would set the economic policies of the Washington administration and of the future of the country. If there was a fantasy draft of all the cabinet members in United States history- Alexander Hamilton would be my #1 choice.

Alexander Hamilton is one of my favorite presidents too š His scientific mind, “The Federalist Papers” practicality for balancing finances, extra marital affairs, fateful mortal duel etc.
He wasn’t a boring man..always involved in something..for good or ill.
