Freddie Mercury, the singer for the rock band Queen was born on this day in 1946. Freddie was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar.  Freddie Mercury died in 1991 at the age of 45. Queen released 15 studio albums and had a dozen  hits in the United States. Freddie Mercury was one of the great front men in rock and roll history. I think in the years since his death his popularity has grown and the awareness of how great a singer he was has also grown. Queen’s finest moment and the greatest moment at the famous Live Aid Concert in 1985 was the performance of Queen.
