1968 Winter Olympic Hero Juan-Claude Killy-69 Today

Jean-Claude Killy who won 3 gold medals in alpine skiing in the 1968 Grenoble Games turns 69 today. Killy was the Olympic hero in that games winning the downhill, slalom and giant slalom. After the Olympic Games were over he retired at the age of 24.

The 1969 Grenoble Games were the first Olympics I ever watched, I was seven. I didn’t know a lot about what I was watching but I knew Juan-Claude Killy was great. He had to be, he had such a cool name.
