Terrell Owens seems to have made his last stop in the NFL after being released by the Seattle Seahawks over the weekend. The debate will begin. Does Terrell Owens belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame or not?
He has impressive ‘stats” in his 15 years he had 1078 receptions, nearly 16,000 receiving yards, he is tied for 2nd all -time in receiving touchdowns tied with Randy Moss and behind the immortal Jerry Rice. 153 touchdowns. He played for 5 ive teams.
The stats look impressive but he was a cancer on every team he played for. His teams only made 1 Super Bowl and he played on some pretty good teams. They have been pretty stingy on letting receivers of recent times into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Chris Carter has impressive stats and he has been waiting for 5ive years now. If I had a vote I would have a hard time voting for him. He was a stats guy, not a team guy. When the he wasn’t getting the ball thrown to him he acted up. He threw his quarterback’s under the bus. Terrell Owens was all about Terrell Owens. I think he may eventually get in but I think he will have to wait a while. I would be shocked if the Pro Football Hall of Fame voters put him in the first few years of his eligibility.
