Singer-Songwriter Elvis Costello turns 58 years old today. Born Declan MacManus, he became Elvis Costello before releasing his first album in 1977, [the classic “My Aim Is True”} Elvis has released 32 albums over the past 35 years. Elvis isn’t a weekender.  His greatest period was the 1977-1982 when he released great album after great album. I do not know if anyone has released a greater 3 in a row to open their career albums than Elvis’ “My Aim Is True” “This Years Model”, and “Armed Forces”

Elvis is on my Mount Rushmore of music artists {The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle and Elvis Costello} I’ve seen him 5ive times in concert, most recently last fall.  Greatest concert I’ve ever seen- August 1982 at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, {the next night I saw The Clash at the same venue}
