On this day in 2004 two paintings by Edvard Munch are stolen at gunpoint from a museum in Oslo, Norway. The paintings were The Scream and Madonna. Both paintings were recovered two years later.The Scream has to be my favourite work of art. Awesome.
A pastel version of The Scream sold this May for $120 million, a record for a work of art at an auction.
