Houston Astros Fire Brad Mills- First Major League Manager Fired This Season

Brad Mills

Brad Mills has become the first manager to fire their manager this Major League Baseball season. The Astros have the worst record in the league but they also have the lowest team salary. They have gutted their team this summer. Their roster looks like that of a AAA team. A bad AAA team. I don’t  know what kind of manager Brad Mills is but why fire him with 6 weeks to go? Why not let him finish the year? Then again, Brad Mills has been put out of his misery. Maybe he’s better off now.

From a distance I feel the Astros are headed the way of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jeff Lunnow the new Astro GM is not impressing me with the moves he’s made. I don’t see why anyone would want to manage this team. Only someone desperate for a job will take it.

  1. I dont really get this firing. Like you said why not wait 6 weeks? I know that they have to blow everything up and start over. They need to be serious as well. Connie Mack could not win with this team.
Brad Mills now has a second claim to fame – the first being Nolan Ryan’s strikeout victim 3,509 to pass the Big Train.
