On this day in 1977 the notorious Son of Sam- David Berkowitz, a 24 year old postal employee was arrested for a series of killings that happened in New York City in a period of a year. He would confess to killing six people and wounding several others in the course of eight shootings in New York from 1976-1977. Berkowitz is 59 now, serving 25 years to life.

i still do not think that berkowitz acted alone. that was a terrible summer. lots of things in that summer.
many believe you are correct on that.
berkowitz was a short stocky guy. most of the composites and witness descriptions were of thin tall individuals. i think only one of the crime scenes had berkowitz there. who knows. and he is not talking, though i wish he would.
there is a book that came out years ago that is supposed to be great on this subject..i have it..haven’t read it…forget the name of it.. need to go dig through the boxes of books….
probably ‘the ultimate evil’ by maury terry. supposedly links manson to berkowitz. i am not sure of all that in the book, but in my opinion there is no way that berkowitz did this on his own.

thought so – i think he has updated it several times. i think i first read that book in 88 or 89. was a pretty decent read.
i had heard it was pretty good. i have it..i think i will need 20 lifetimes to read all the books i have..so it is worth reading i take it.
