Air Traffic Controllers Walk Off Job- This Day 1981

On this day in 1981, tired of working long hours on obsolete equipment, 13,ooo members of the United States Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization walk off the job. Two days later President Ronaldus Magnus after warning them they would be fired if they didn’t come back to their jobs- fires 11,500 strikers. This had an unexpected result. In the Soviet Union their leaders saw this as this man is someone to take seriously that he was indeed one tough man. The Soviets understood strength.
