Michael Phelps last night became the most decorated of all time-with 19 and counting, he still may add to the total before these game end. The fool who does the swimming events [not Rowdy Gaines} started screaming that he was ‘the greatest olympian ever’ I do believe there is a difference between being the most decorated and the greatest. Being the most decorated is a fact, being the ‘GOAT” is an opinion. Did anyone consider Larisa Latynina the greatest olympian of all times until last night? I would think not. Jesse Owens was the greatest olympian ever in my opinion. I would say Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympic swimmer of all-time [my opinion} He does seem to have matured, grown up. He actually seems kind of likeable. That said I have seen enough of his mom! Isn’t it odd how sports can humble you- Saturday I found Ryan Lochte unbearable after his victory. Then he blows the relay for his team, goes medal-less in an individual event, I think he learned a lesson.
