President William McKinley Memorial- Canton, Ohio

Yesterday after visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton we visited the William McKinley Memorial which was located nearby. William McKinley was the 25th POTUS. He was the president during the Spanish-American War. He was assassinated by anarchist Leon Czolgosz in Buffalo, New York.  McKinley was shot on September 6th, 1901 and died September 12th, 1901. Upon his death Theodore Roosevelt [one of my favorites} became POTUS.  Bill McKinley was from Canton. Both Bill and his wife Ida’s tombs are inside the memorial. A new book out last year looks and McKinley/Czolgosz and the assassination- by Scott Miller called “The President and the Assassin: McKinley, Terror and Empire At The Dawn of the American Century” Well worth reading.
