On this day in 1794 Maximilien Robespierre was arrested for encouraging the exection of more than 17,000 “Enemies of the Revolution” The next day without a trial he would be guillotined in the Place de la Revolution.

strange time in the french history. everything i have read on it just makes me scratch my head.
the last time i was in paris, i did a lot of personal study of this time in france. i am grateful that we have never come to a level of rule like this here in the states.
