Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith- the last decendant of POTUS #16 Abraham Lincoln-was born on this day in 1904.  He was the great grandson of Abraham. His grandfather was Robert Todd Lincoln. Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln had four sons but only Robert Todd lived to adulthood. Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith had a sister-neither Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith or his sister had children so ends the Lincoln line.

Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith never went to college but was said to have earned a degree from National University Law School. He never worked as a lawyer though spending his life as a gentleman farmer of independent means. Beckwith was married three times. He died in 1985.

There is a recent book out on the decendants of Abraham Lincoln called “The Last Lincoln’s” I haven’t read it. Beckwith lived most of his life in the Vermont and Washington,D.C. areas. He avoided publicity  In the picture Beckwith is the man in the middle.
