Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg

I was in Gettysburg on Saturday. Had a chance to sit down and chat with POTUS #16- Abraham Lincoln outside the new visitor center there. He had a little speech he had written in his hand.

    • well yes he did…and he is a big baseball fan. I don’t know if you know the current alternative history dealing with the assassination but… on his deathbed his last words were- reportedly directed towards Abner Doubleday were ” Don’t let baseball die”.. Abe is against the DH and Interleague play. As far as Carter goes he said he wasn’t as bad as James Buchanan but he wasn’t far off.

  1. i can see that about not wanting baseball to die. glad that abe was against interleague play. i am not pro dh or anti dh. i just tolerate the dh as i dont want my pitcher getting drilled or hurt running the bases.
i will say this however, if the pitcher has to bat this would take away a lot of headhunting.
