Great Western Vacation- Day 6- Little Bighorn National Battlefield

On the way to Yellowstone-[we would’t get to Yellowstone until the next day} we stopped for a couple hours at Little Bighorn National Battlefield- site of Custer’s Last Stand.

We went to the visitors center. I had read about the tour you could take on a small bus that is run by the Apsaalooke Indians -out of Little Big Horn College. We took that hour long tour. I forget what it cost something like $8 but it was worth it. The young man who gave the tour was very knowledgable and funny. It wasn’t a slanted-bias account of the battle either he gave both sides of the story. I learned some things-always a good thing.

After the tour we went back to the visitor center-watched a film, walked out to where the famous Last Stand took place. It was well worth the stop. There was a good sized crowd there also-but not overcrowded.
