We spent Friday night in northern Montana not far from the North Dakota border. Talk about a no man’s land. We got up in the morning and drove for 2 hours before we found a town that was big enough where we could find a place to eat breakfast.
We were headed towards Yellowstone National Park. The original plan was to go to my favourite National Park- Glacier National Park in northwest Montana. The Going-To-The-Sun Road there is an incredible drive. I had been there in 1992. Mrs. Postcard has never been there. I had been keeping track on their website though- and the snow still hasn’t been totally removed from Going-To-The Sun Road at that time. The road is 50 miles long. The middle 15 or so miles were still closed. It is a long long ride across Montana to get there. If I couldn’t do the entire road-we didn’t have the time to mess with it. So this would be the one thing we had planned that we would have to miss. Maybe in a coming summer Mrs. Postcard will get her vacation later in the summer so we can go to Glacier.
