149 years ago at Gettysburg- was a busy and bloody day of battle. A lot of action on this day- at places called “The Wheatfield” “Culp’s Hill”, “The Peach Orchard”. “Cemetery Hill” and most famously at “Little Round Top”
I wish I were at Gettysburg right now walking the fields. Back in 2003 on the 140th anniversary of the battle I did a three day tour with a group headed by the great civil war historian Ed Bearrs. Outstanding and worth every penny I paid. Bearrs is now in his 90’s and still doing tours. I’ve run into him a couple times at Harpers Ferry and one day at Gettysburg I looked up [at Little Round Top} and there was Ed walking by himself. The guy has a remarkable memory. I wish I had his energy.
