Great article on Tim Lincecum’s Troubles this year

The two things that struck me is- the guy is small -and he lost 30 pounds in the off-season? Maybe that is part of the problem with his fastball and his pitching problems.

Second- he needs to tell his father to shut the hell up. Timmy is a big boy now-this isn’t Little League.  Back in the day- when I started watching baseball-late 1960’s- say until about 20 years ago- I never heard these stories of fathers getting involved like this. The stories I have heard over the years -where it seems like the son looks at his father as his coach and ignores the professionals it doesn’t work out well.  Unless the Giants hire Steve Lincecum to be there pitching coach-he should just shut up. My guess is Tim has had his best seasons. He is nicknamed “The Freak” because of his build, the way the pitches- a lot of people a few years ago were predicting this isn’t going to last long. A scout said in the article he needs to learn to pitch. Pretty good idea-after he has a talk with his daddy.
