Great Western Vacation Update

Day 6 of the Great Western Vacation. I haven’t been able to keep up in the evenings- too busy and too tired.  So far we spent a day in Springfield, Illinois- seeing all the Abraham Lincoln sites there. His home, presidential museum, the Lincoln-Herndon Law Office, the train depot where he left for Washington, New Salem-where he spent his time as a young adult. Wednesday- on the way across Iowa- stopped at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum. Thursday-The Badlands in South Dakota and in the evening Mount Rushmore. Yesterday- Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota {The Badlands of North Dakota} which was awesome. We had a herd of buffalo crossing in front of our car- about 150 or so. My first time in North Dakota- I’ve now been to 48 of the 50[lacking Alaska and Hawaii} Today a lot of driving. In Montana spent a few hours at battlefield of Little Big Horn and Big Horn National Forest. Tonight in Cody, Wyoming- up early tomorrow and spending the day in Yellowstone National Park….. then will be heading south towards the Grand Canyon.
