Great Western Vacation Day 1

Springfield, Illinois: Drove all day across Ohio, Indiana and into Central Illinois. Took 3 1/2 hours to drive across Ohio on I-70.  Rained all the way across Ohio. How long does it take to drive across Texas, Quinn-something like 18 hours? I thought I read it was 18 hours driving across and 18 driving north to south also?? Anyhow. Ohio-Indiana-Illinois not exactly the most scenic of states. A lot of farm land. Got to Springfield too late to see any of the Abraham Lincoln sites today. That will have to wait until the morning.

Ohio and Indiana two states that Romney has to win in November if he is going to beat Obama. Obama won the Hoosier state by 1 percent in 2008. He won Ohio by 4.6 percent.

Ohio- I am predicting great things for the Buckeyes under Urban Meyer. The man is a winner and he’s going to change Big 10 football for the better-maybe even bring the whole conference into the 20th Century. National Title in 4 years.

Indiana football-they play football? They have only won the Big 10 title two times the last coming in 1967. The last coach they had that had a career winning record at IU -was a guy whose last season was 1947. They don’t care much for football in Indiana anyway- they have basketball. I predict another lousy season for Hoosier football. They were 1-11 last year.

  1. Its going to take a while. I know that from the LA border to the NM border is 869 miles. You will go through several small towns and large cities along the way that will limit your speed. But 18 hours is probably close. Enjoy your adventure.
