In less than an hour my wife and I will be off on a 2 week vacation out west. First stop today will be Springfield, Illinois, “The Land of Lincoln” Tomorrow we will visit the Lincoln Museum and Presidential Library, the Lincoln Home, Lincoln’s Tomb and whatever else they have their dealing with Old Abe. After that- on the agenda The Badlands of South Dakota, Mount  Rushmore,The Badlands of North Dakota { I have been to forty-seven of the fifty states-this will be my first trip to North Dakota.. Alaska and Hawaii will be the only two that remain to be seen} over into Montana to see Little Big Horn and Glacier National Park, down to Wyoming and Yellowstone, heading south to the Grand Canyon in Arizona then heading back home across Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas and then north. We have 2 weeks, I am hoping on the return home to have the time to make another trip to Dallas-Dealey Plaza and visit the JFK assassination sites. Would like to stop and Memphis and have lunch with Elvis and revisit Sun Studios. I haven’t been out west in nearly 20 years. I am sure we will run into some things along the way that aren’t on the agenda.  I haven’t done this much driving in a long time. I am ready to get out there.
